CHARLES  A.  EDWARDS, SR.

Services for Charles Arthur Edwards Sr., of 568 Heard Ave. who died in a 
Dublin Hospital will be held at 1: 30 p.m. today in Memorial Chapel.

The Rev. James W. Waters will officiate and burial will be in Riverside 
Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Fred Lee, John A. Hickman, Alton Evans Sr., Paul Brack, 
John Byington, and E. P. Hight.

Mr. Edwards was a native of Walton County and was educated in the Walton 
County public schools.  He has lived in Macon most of his life.  Mr. Edwards 
was a locomotive engineer for the Georgia Southern and Florida Railroad.  He 
was a life member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive, Fireman and Engineman.  He 
was a member of the Masonic Lodge  No. 390 F & AM and he was a member of the 
Royal Arch Masons.  Mr. Edwards was a veteran of World War I having served in 
the U.S. Army.  He was a member of Mable White Baptist Church.

Mr. Edwards was the son of the late William Lumpkin Edwards and the late Mrs. 
Mary Watkins Edwards.

Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Mattie Ora Lee of Macon; two sons, 
Charles A. Edwards Jr. of Macon and Robert B. Edwards, Sr. of Macon;  two 
daughters, Mrs. W. B. Busbee and Mrs J. T. Whitehead, both of Macon;  13 
grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Chapel funeral directors is in charge of arrangements.

Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Dublin, Laurens County Georgia> attched is his
