"Bill" Evans, 55, of 975 Maple Street, died yesterday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Horton-Ivey Funeral Home. He was born in Laurens County, the son of Walker and Anna Evans, and was a supervisor at Robins AFB. Mr. Evans was a veteran of World War II, a member of Second Street Baptist Church, and Ft. Hawkins Lodge F&AM and Order of Eastern Star No. 285. Survivors are his widow, the former Grace Tyson, Macon; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Fordham, Macon; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Mrs. Anna Evans, Dublin; five brothers, B. Ruldoph Evans, Macon, Newnon, Chappell, Alonzo, and Freeman Evans, all of Dublin; four sisters, Mrs. C. I. Bentley, Mrs. Lester Cullen, Mrs. Robert Pierce, all of Macon and Mrs. Anna Vaughn, Phoenix City, Ala.; several nieces and nephews. Additional Comments: Bill was born 24 Jan 1908. Georgia death certificate #01496. Bill is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Georgia along with his wife, Grace "Gracie" Mae Tyson Poole Evans.
