(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net August 27, 2013, 11:59 am The Macon Telegraph 7-7-1968 Page 9 Mrs. Dessie Heath Hancock Services for Mrs. Dessie heath Hancock, 59 of 3258 Columbus Road, who died Friday in a local hospital after an extended illness will be held Monday at 2pm in Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Fred Tumblin will officiate with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James Locke, Marvin Farr, Eulie Donaldson, C. W. Perkins, Tommie Allen, and Mois Woodard. Mrs. Hancock was a native of Bibb County. She was the daughter of the late John R. Heath and Mrs. John R. Heath. Mrs. Hancock had been a resident of Bibb County all of he life and was educated in the Bibb County public schools. She was a member of the Pineview Holliness Baptist Church in Tifton. Survivors other than her mother include her husband, W. L. Hancock of Macon; two sons, H. L. Hancock and W. C. Hancock Sr., both of Macon; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Johnson of Macon; two brothers, Freddie L. Heath of Tampa and Robert Ellis Heath of Macon; and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will lie in state until noon Monday at 1314 Edna Place, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Hancock. Additional Comments: Dessie was born 1 Sep 1908 to John Robert Heath and Beadie Arnold Heath, both of whom are buried at Fort Hill Cemetery in Macon, Ga. Georgia death certificate #018138.
