Yesterday, shortly after noon, Colonel Robert U. Hardeman, state treasurer, received from Macon a telegram announcing the sudden death in that city of Miss Jessica, only daughter of his brother, Hon. Thomas Hardeman, postmaster at Macon. The telegram was a great shock to the relatives of the young lady in Atlanta, who did not even know she was ill. Only a short time ago Miss Hardeman visited Atlanta, spending some weeks here. During her stay in the city she took part in several musical entertainments and charmed a large circle of friends and acquaintances by her unusual musical talent developed on those occasions. Miss Hardeman was about twenty-six years of age, an only daughter, the idol of her parents and the center of a wide circle of relatives and friends. No particulars of her death were received. Mr. Eugene Hardeman, of the comptroller-general's office, accompanied by other relatives, went down to Macon last night to attend the funeral.
