Macon Telegraph Macon. Bibb County, Georgia Monday, October 28, 1912 Page 12. Death and Funerals J. P. HEARD VIENNA, Oct. 27--Hon. J. P. Heard. senator of the Fourtenth senatorial district, was buried here yesterday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. W. Davis, of Camilla, assisted by the pastor of the Baptist church of Vienna. After these services the Knight Templar took charge of the services and concluded them. Mr. Heard had lived in Vienna for a number of years and had a large number of friends. No man stood higher in the community. He had accumulated quite a fortune. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Carrie Heard, five sons, O. M. Heard and Price Heard of Cordele, J. P.., Jr. J. J. and Bailey Heard of Vienna, and three daughters P. A. Lunnard and Mrs. W. F. George, of Vienna, and Mrs. A. C. Crockett, of Americus. He was born and raised in Bibb county where he has a large number of relatives. Additional Comments: 2nd Obituary: Columbus Ledger Columbus. STATE SENATOR HEARD PASSES AWAY IN MACON ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Macon, Ga., Oct. 26. -- Joseph P. Heard, aged sixty-five years, one of the most prominent men of south Georgia, expired here Friday, after two weeks' illness, due to kidney trouble. He leaves his widow, five sons, three daughetrs, five brothers and three sisters survive him. He was a brother of J. T. Heard, of Macon, president of the Fourth National bank. He was state senator from the Fourteenth district, having been elected at the last primary without opposition. His death will be deplored by scores of friends and acquaintances throughout th state. He was a banker, merchant and planter, having conducted extensively such business in south Georgia for many years. His brothers here arte Dr. T. H. Heard, Walter and J. F.
