Services will be held today in Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Elder will officiate. Mr. Herndon, a lifelong resident of Macon, was Payne City Chief of Police. He was a member and past master of Fort Hawkins Masonic Lodge, a member of Al Sihah Shrine Temple and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fay Foskey Herndon of Macon; a son, Larry Herndon of Macon; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Jackson of Atlanta and Mrs. Kathy Hair of Macon; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Callaway of Bolingbroke, Mrs. Grace Tuten of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Barbara Stevens of Macon; a brother, Wilbur Herndon of Jackson, Miss.; his mother, Mrs. Anges Herndon of Macon; and three grandchildren.
