"Bill" Hoover, 88, of 1256 Buena Vista Ave. died Sunday in a Dublin hospital. Services will be held at 11am Tuesday in Bay Springs Baptist Church near Scott. The Rev. Dan King and the Rev. Douglas Bush will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30pm Tuesday in Macon Memorial Park. Mr. Hoover, a native of Johnson County, was a Baptist. He was a World War I veteran and a retired security guard. Survivors include his wife, Lula B. Hoover of Macon; four daughters, Louise Smith and Margaret Haywood, both of Scott, Virginia Odom of Adrian, and Gracie Elizabeth Shupe of Macon; four sons, Byron L. Hoover of Waverly Hall and Johnny R. Hammock, William J. Hammock, and Larry Dennis Hammock, all of Macon; two brothers, Gaylor Hoover of Wrightsville and Wilbur Hoover of Raleigh, NC; three sisters, Lelia Davis and Mattie Lee Meadows, both of Wrightsville, and Carrie Mae Kight of Kite; and a number of grandchildren and great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin from 7:30 to 9pm today. Additional Comments: Henry was born 23 Mar 1896 to James Joel Hoover and Celia Jane Brantley Hoover. His first wife was Eva Foskey who is buried at Bay Springs Cemetery in Johnson County, Ga.
