MACON, GA - Joseph "Mike" Horne, age 64, passed away Saturday, December 2nd at 
the Carl Vinson Veteran's Hospital in Dublin. -Survivors include his son Jason 
Grey Horne, daughter-in- law Tina Horne and grandson Cullen Horne, all of 
Adairsville; mother Opal Horne; sister Janet Horne Allen and niece Megan Ruth 
Allen, all of Macon; his devoted friend Gail Veal and Golden Boy, his loving 
and faithful companion cat. Mike was predeceased by his father, James Gilbert 
Horne, Jr.    -Mike was born in Macon and served with pride in the United 
States Air Force. He was retired from Southern Bell Phone Company. He was an 
accomplished musician who loved Bluegrass music. He played with several groups 
including Sweet Water Run in Macon. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and a self-
professed Chrysler man. -Mike was a kind, gentle man with a wonderful sense of 
humor. He will be greatly missed. -The family would like to extend their 
sincere thanks and gratitude for the loving and tender care provided to Mike 
by the Staff in the Intensive Care Unit of the Carl Vinson Veteran's 
Hospital. -The family received friends on Monday night, December 4th from 6:00 
to 8:00 P.M. at Crest Lawn Funeral Home on Pio Nono Avenue. -Graveside 
services were held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, December 5th in Glen Haven Memorial 
Gardens, 7070 Houston Road, Macon, Ga. 31216. -Crest Lawn Funeral Home had 
charge of arrangements.
