W. JACKSON Savannah Morning News 3 November 1901 J. W. Jackson's remains still lie in state at Wood's undertaking establishment at Macon, while friends are seeking to find some trace of relatives of the dead man. Mr. Jackson was a retired merchant at Bolingbroke. He was worth $25,000.00 in property, it is estimated. He had never been married, and nobody knew anything about his family connections. He was a Confederate soldier, and located at Bolingbroke after the war. He took nobody into confidence, and therefore, nobody knew much about his affairs. He realized a short time ago that he was not in good health, and came to Macon during the first part of the week to get Mr. R. H. Plant to assist him in winding up his property and so arranging his affairs thet he would be ready to die. He found Mr. Plant was out of the city, and died before he could get the matters straightened.
