He was owner and operator of Kitchens Garage Inc. more than 48 years. He was a member of the Liberty Hill Masonic Lodge No. 308, Scottish Rite, and Al Sihah Shrine Temple. He was a member of Swift Creek United Methodist Church and the Porter Sunday School Class. He was an Army veteran who served in World War II. He was an honorary Bibb County Sheriff's Deputy. Survivors: wife, Louise A. Kitchens of Macon; children, Jimmy Kitchens, Melody K. Busbee, and Terry Kitchens, all of Macon; brother and sister, Lewis T. Kitchens and Fronie Mae Brock, both of Macon; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Services: 2pm Saturday in Hart's Mortuary. Burial: Swift Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Lanning will officiate. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight in the funeral home. The family may be contacted at the residence of Melody Busbee, 4898 Jeffersonville Raod. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Swift Creek United Methodist Church, 4271 Jeffersonville Road, Macon 31201.
