MACON - Willie Mae Layson, 77, of 2006 Alfred Drive, went home to be with her 
Lord and Savior on January 28, 2007. Graveside services were held at 1 P.M. 
Saturday in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Charles Burchfield will speak. 
Mrs. Layson was born in Barnwell, SC and lived in Macon for 57 years and was a 
member of the Baptist Faith. The world will miss this great prayer warrior and 
matriarch of goodness and kindness. Miss Mae was hostess and server at Len 
Bergs for over 20 years in the Post Office Alley. She was preceded in death by 
her husband, Charlie A. Layson; her son Lloyd Layson; and granddaughter Jonna 
Burchfield. Survivors include her children, Virginia Ophelia (Chet) Burchfield 
of Macon, Ronnie (Mary) Layson of Lizella, Floyd (Judy) Layson of Danville; 
ten grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.  The family could be contacted at 
1331 Beaver Oaks Drive, Macon. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be 
made to Hospice of Central Georgia. Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of 
arrangements.
