Lee was born 6-24-1914 and died 9-22-1942 (GA DC# 21618) and is buried at Riverside Cemetery in Bibb County. His parents, John David Lee and Jewell Patterson Lee, are also buried there. From The Macon Telegraph 9-24-1942 Jack Lee Dies While his parents waited in vain at the local airport for their son to land for his second visit home since enlisting in the US Army Air Corps., Jack Lee, former popular young baliff of the Bibb County courts died in a crash at Decatur, Ga., Tuesday afternoon. The young man was one of two to die when the Army bomber crashed. Five others escaped. Mr. Lee's father, J. A. Lee, deputy tax collector of Bibb County, and mother had gone to the airport to meet him at 4PM. The plane did not arrive. Returning to his office in the courthouse about 6PM, Mr. Lee found a telegram notifying him of the crash. Mr. Lee enlisted in the Air Corps last January. Prior to that time, he had served more than two years as a baliff here. Born in Danville, Ga., June 24, 1914, he moved to Macon as a child, attending the public schools here, Mercer University and LSU. Before joining the Air Corps, he was connected with the office of Sheriff Jim Hicks. He was a member of the Centenary Methodist Church and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Surviving besides his parents of 505 Beech Avenue, is one sister, Mrs. Berry Moody of Macon. Funeral arangements will be announced later by Hart's Mortuary.
