 Emogene Metts "Granny Jean" Martin, 74, of Lizella died July 2, 2014.
 She was born in Alapaha to the late Otis and Blannie Harper Metts. She was 
preceded in death by a brother, Autry Metts and two sisters, Thelma Klages and 
Elsie Metts Crawley. She was a retired secretary to the Dean of Students at 
Macon State College after 30 + years. She was a loving caring mother, 
grandmother and great-grandmother and cared for everyone as family. She was 
known as "Granny Jean" and was loved by everyone who knew her,
  She is survived by three sons, Jim Martin (Cindy) of Orlando, FL, Jon Martin 
(Margie) of Macon, Jeff Martin (Connie) of Lizella; grandchildren, Ryan Martin, 
Casey Martin, Bryce and Taylor-Anne Martin and three great-grandchildren; two 
sisters, Latrelle Heath of Alapaha and Sandra Bock of Midland.
 A memorial service was held on July 5 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Hart's 
Mortuary at the Cupola.
 Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. 
 Hart's Mortuary and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
