Funeral services were held 11 A.M., Thursday, September 13, 2007, in the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Veterans 275 A space 1. Rev. Charles Hanson officiated. -Mr. Mayo was born in Oglethorpe, Georgia on March 15, 1932 and was a member of the Teamsters Local # 528. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army, and retired from Rider Truck Lines as a driver. -Survivors include his wife, Mary Mayo of Macon; son, Billy Wade (Peggy) Mayo Jr. of Byron; grandchildren, Michael Wade Mayo of Byron, David Brandon Mayo of Mooresville, N.C.; great grandson, Cameron Wade Mayo of Byron; brother, Donald Mayo of Tomball, Tex.; sister, Betty Eicchorn of New Bern, N.C. -The family will be at the residence and receive friends at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, Wednesday 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. -Contributions in Mr. Mayo name may be made to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, Ga. 31210. -Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
