Mrs. Mixon was born April 16, 1926 in Twiggs County to Alonzo "Lonnie" and Annie Ham Thompson. A 1944 graduate of Twiggs County High School, she lived in Middle Georgia most of her life. A dedicated member and former secretary of Victory Baptist Church, she truly enjoyed her church family as well as her natural family. Mrs. Mixon was preceded in death by her husband, Mackie Ralph Mixon, a brother, Hansel Thompson, and two sisters Gladys Kennington Connor and Florene King. She is survived by one brother, Hubert (Janette) Thompson, of Milledgeville; four children, Edith Peebles of Augusta, Ralph (Suzanne) Mixon of Kathleen, Susan Mixon of Marietta, and Emily (Mark) Warlick of Macon; grandchildren: Kyle (Laura) Mixon of Tampa, Fl., Christopher (Jorden) Mixon of Valdosta, Steven (Jenny) Drinnon of Deatsville, Al., James ( Aileen) Drinnon of Jacksonville, Fla., Byron (Tamberly) Peebles of Augusta, Elizabeth Warlick of Macon; two great-granddaughters, Laura Peebles of Augusta and Madison Drinnon of Deatsville, AL and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will host a visitation at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Monday, June 22, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday June 23, 2015 in the Heritage Chapel with interment to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
