Edwards Bobo Murray, Jr. -MACON - Edwards Bobo Murray, Jr. died Friday, July 7,
2006. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 24 at 3P.M. at Christ
Episcopal Church with the Reverend Scott Kidd officiating. In lieu of flowers,
the family requests that donations be made to Christ Church, 582 Walnut Street,
Macon, Georgia 31201. -Mr. Murray was predeceased by his first wife, Mary
Bingham Murray, and by his second wife, Nancy Mann Murray; his parents Mamie
Adams Murray and Edwards Bobo Murray; and a brother, Terry Murray. At one time
he lived with his grandparents at what is now the 1842 Inn. His grandfather B.T.
Adams owned the Manchester Cotton Mill which later became the Atlantic Cotton
Mill. -Having attended Bibb County schools, Mr. Murray graduated from Dartmouth
College in 1947. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during
World War II. -For over 50 years New York City was his home, but in 2000 he
retired to Macon. Mr. Murray was a consultant who was instrumental in training
third world countries in American business and management techniques.
-Survivors: Children, Felicia Murray of New York, Jonathan Murray of Bangkok,
Thailand; and two step-daughters, Bettina Nelson of New York and Courtney Kahn
of Sausalito, California. He is also survived by cousins, Mrs. Ralph Newton,
Mrs. Dennis Ballou, Mrs. John Dennis of Macon, and Mrs. Dan Palmer of Columbus.
