E. McCurdy J. S. CHERRY RECEIVES NOTICE NIECE’S DEATH Mrs. W. E. McCurdy, Who Died Yesterday at Stone Mountain, Granddaughter Of Man Cherry Street Named For. J. S. Cherry, 858 Oak street, yesterday afternoon received a message stating the death of his niece, Mrs. W. E. McCurdy, at her home at Stone Mountain. She is survived by her husband and eight children. Mrs. McCurdy was a granddaughter of the late Hilliard Cherry of Macon, and for whom Cherry street, Macon’s most prominent throughfare, was named. She was the daughter of Mrs. J. P. Tuggle, of Stone Mountain, and besides J. S. Cherry, had other relatives in Macon. She has visited frequently in Macon and has many friends here. The funeral will be held this afternoon from her late residence at Stone Mountain, following which interment will take place at the Stone Mountain cemetery. Posted in Macon Telegraph. Copied exactly as it appears. Note: As this is a clipping I have no date for when it appeared in the paper. Hilliard Cherry died 1891 and Judd S. Cherry died 1917, so within that 26 year period.
