DEATHS  AND  FUNERALS

GEORGE A. NOBLES
  
George A. Nobles, a Union soldier in the Civil War, died at his Camp near 
Whiteside Monday night after five months of feeble health.  Mr. Nobles was in 
his ninetieth year and was a native of New York City.  He had been touring the 
country for the last two years with his nephew, H. M. Dormandy of New York.  
He had been here about six months and ill most of that time.

Surviving are six nephews;  H. M., H. D., Charles and George Darmandy;  Harry  
&  Burt Nobles of Rochester, N. Y.

He joined the United States Army May 12, 1861,  Company E. Thirteenth 
Regiment , New York State Regulars.  He was mustered out May13, 1863 joined 
the United States Navy on the battleship Princeton, where he served throughout 
the war.

The funeral services will be from Hart’s Chapel this (Wednesday) at 12 o’clock 
noon.  Rev. M. M. Marshall, of Byron, will conduct the services, and the body 
will be taken to Andersonville for interment in the National Cemetery.

Compiler Notes:  George A. Nobles was born in 1830 in New York City, New York 
and died in Macon, Bibb County Georgia on Monday, September 20, 1920.  The 
Death Certificate from the State of Georgia states his father’s name was 
Charles Nobles, his mother names was not listed.
