Jarrell was my great-uncle. He and his first wife Mary took in his youngest siblings, including my great-grandfather, when their mother died, before 1880. Their father Thomas was killed in the war. Some notes on the obituary above: Mrs. J. A. Jarrell is the third wife of John Albert Fitz Jarrell (1844-1924), second child of Thomas Fitz Jarrell and Mary Towles of Jones Co. GA. John and Fannie were married about 1899. The surviving sons are John William, Albert A., and Walter G. John William and probably the daughters are from J.A.'s first wife, Mary A. E. Smith, and Albert and Walter from his second wife, Mattie James. I don't think Fannie had any children of her own. She was living with Albert A. Jarrell and his family in Macon in 1930.
