Obit for John R. Hattaway, Macon Telegraph, June 24, 1929 Tel-09A

  John R. Hattaway, 63, well-known farmer, died at his residence near Sofkee 
yesterday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock. Mr. Hattaway suffered a heart attack at 5 
o'clock yesterday morning from which he never recovered. He came here six years 
ago from Laurens County.
  Surviving are his wife, who was Miss Fannie Jackson of Jones County; five 
sons and two daughters, Richard, Jack, Wesley and Charlie, of Sofkee; Frank, of 
Cochran; Misses Mattie and Lucy Hattaway, of Sofkee; also two brothers and two 
sisters, Frank Hattaway, of Bibb county; Milton Hattaway of Twiggs county; Mrs. 
Lucy Jackson, of Jones County; and Mrs. Josie Jackson, of Texas.
  The funeral will take place at Liberty Chapel, Methodist church on Tuesday, 
the hour to be announced later.
