                    MRS. MATTIE LENA PADGETT

 Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Lena Padgett, 58 of B-16 Pendleton Homes, 
will be announced by Hart's Mortuary. She died last night after a three months 
illness.

 She was the widow of Joe S. Padgett and daughter of Will Barlow and Mitchlie 
Barlow. She was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church and a native of Bibb 
County.

 Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. J. W. Slaughter, Mrs. A. T. Hardy, 
Mrs. M. C. Crosby, Mrs. James M. Abney, Mrs. Ethel Bishop, Mrs. Ray E. Cannon, 
and Miss Sara Ann Padgett, all of Macon; three sons, Albert Padgett and William 
E. Padgett, of Macon and J. W. Padgett of Milledgeville; 10 grandchildren; 1 
great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Andrews and Mrs. John Francies, both 
of Macon; three brothers, R. O. Barlow, W. E. Barlow, and M. T. Barlow, all of 
Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
