MACON, GA - Effie Preston, 102, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, 
January 20, 2007. -Ms. Preston was born in Baldwin County Ga.,  November 28, 
1904 to the late Bartow and Effie Holland Adams. She joined East Side Baptist 
Church, now known as Northridge Baptist Church, on March 10, 1918 and was an 
active member for 89 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas 
Scoven Preston and her daughter Frances V. Lanford. -She is survived by her 
son, Thomas W. (Bill) Preston (Janice) of Lake Sinclair; grandchildren, Neal 
Lanford (Allie) of Lake Sinclair, Deborah Strange (Steve) of Tampa, FL, Carole 
Lumley (Dale) of Macon, Dean Lanford (Anita) of Gainesville, Donna Allen (Dow) 
of Macon; nine Great Grandchildren; two Great Great Grandchildren. -Her 
biggest regret was, "I never learned to drive."  Funeral services were at 2:00 
P.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Northridge Baptist Church. The Reverends 
David Mosely and Bob Hamilton officiating. Interment was in Glen Haven 
Memorial Gardens, Macon, Ga.. -Hart's Mortuary had charge of arrangements
