Enoch John Rainey, 90 died at his residence, 4194 Villa Ave., at 2:30 p.m. yesterday after a long illness. He was retired Chief Baliff for Bibb County Superior Court, having served the court for more than fifty years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary. Dr. Clyde S. Sherman will officiate and burial will be in Doles Methodist Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Mr. Rainey, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Rainey, was a life long resident of Macon. He was a member of First Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Odom, Macon and Mrs. R. W. Carroll, Atlanta; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild. Additional Comments: Enoch J. Rainey, born May 11, 1847. He had been married twice. He married first, Lucy Ann Kimbrew Dec. 26, 1860 by W. M. Dickson, J. P.: Bibb County Marriages, Book C. page 127. He married second, Sarah Lula Hughes, Dec 1, 1887 by Sterling Tucker, J. P., Bibb County Marriages, Book G. page 189. He had been a member of Doles Church.
