Elizabeth "Betty" Saxon -MACON - Elizabeth "Betty" Saxon, 77, of 4517 Glenwood
Drive, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Graveside services were held Saturday,
June 16, 2007 at 10A.M. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Monty
February officiating. The family may be contacted at the residence. Visitation:
Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Hart's Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the
family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
Box 4406, Macon, GA 31208. Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, in 1928, Mrs. Saxon
lived most of her life in Macon. She graduated from the Macon Hospital School of
Nursing in 1949 and did postgraduate work in the operating room at the Bellview
Hospital in New York City, New York in 1950. She worked in the Macon Hospital
operating room for several years. After a short stay at the hospital in
Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Saxon returned to Macon and went to work with Drs.
Neal and Shirley in 1955. She later became a physician's assistant and continued
to work for OBGYN Specialists for more than fifty years. Mrs. Saxon, daughter of
the late John McKay Zorzi and the late Sarah Frances Lemon Zorzi, was
predeceased by her loving husband, Frank Daniel Saxon, Jr. and by her brother,
Bobby Zorzi. She was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church.
Survivors: Daughter, Lei Lane of Macon; Grandchild, Cam Lane (Emily) of Macon;
Great-grandchild, Chandler Lane; Several nieces and nephews. Hart's Mortuary has
charge of arrangements.
