Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 07, 2008 in the chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Rev. Cole Deen & Rev. L. S. Seabolt will officiate with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City, Georgia. -Mr. Scott was born in Telfair County on April 25, 1934. He was the son of the late John P. Scott & Bertha I. Towns Scott and was preceded in death by his brothers: Max, Raymond, Chester, Otis, Dewey, & George Scott. He served in the United States Army as Private Second Class and in the Army Reserve. He retired from Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins after 38 years of civil service. Mr. Scott was a member of the American Legion Post 211 in Lumber City. Mr. Scott loved to hunt, fish, and was an avid gardner. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and recently came to know him as his savior. -Survivors include: on July 11, 1958 he married Barbara Ann Brewer of Towns Community; 3 daughters: Alison L. Viens (Joe) & Michelle A. Scott of Bluffton, SC, Diana Scott (Jarmel Blount) of Hardeeville, SC; sons: Archie H. Scott II of Bluffton, SC, Michael A. Scott of Lumber City & Jeffery D. Scott of Towns; brother & sister-in-law: Charles W. Scott (Laverne) of Lakeland, FL.; uncle: Rev. Frankie Scott of Hazlehurst; 7 grandchildren who knew him as pa Scott, several nieces & nephews also survive. -VIsitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. -In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Towns Church of God Rt. 1, Box 114C McRae, Georgia 31055. -Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is in charge of the arrangements.
