Macon Telegraph 
MACON - James O. Smith, Jr., age 84, of 7065 Houston Road, died Sunday, 
November 4, 2007 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held 10 A.M., 
Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with 
burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Rusty Smith and Rev. Ed 
Chambliss officiated. Mr. Smith was born in Macon and was a member of 
Tabernaclei Baptist Church. He attended Mikado Baptist Church where he was a 
member of Harvester Sunday School Class and Glowing Years. Mr. Smith was a 
Veteran, serving in the Coast Guard and was retired from Southern Railroad as 
a foreman. Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Smith of Macon; son, James R. 
(Brenda) Smith of Macon; daughters, Sherryl (Jerry) Minton of Macon and Pat 
Maddox of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. 
The family will be at the residence. Contributions may be made in Mr. Smith's 
name to Mikado Baptist Church, 6751 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia 31216. -Crest 
Lawn Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
