BYRON - Walter Leon Spears, 87, died Saturday, October 27, 2007. Graveside 
services will be 1 P.M. Monday, October 29, 2007 in Glen Haven Memorial 
Gardens with Dr. Lawrence Kirk officiating. -Born in Crisp County to the late 
Rabon N. and Julia Elizabeth Goodrum Spears, Mr. Spears was retired from 
Robins Air Force Base and an Army veteran of World War II. He is preceded in 
death by his wife, Frances Mildred Gibbs Spears. -Survivors include children, 
Sandy Spears of Macon, Lynn Tam and her husband John of Powder Springs, Judy 
Osterloh and her husband Gus of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Lisa Dawson and 
her husband Sam of Byron, Jack Fitzgerald and his wife Martha of Stockbridge 
and David Gunn and his wife Sandy of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren; brother, Clarence Spears. -Donations may be made to Byron 
Baptist Church, 100 White Road, Byron, Georgia 31008. -The family will receive 
friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, October 28 at Rooks Funeral Home in 
Byron. -Family may be contacted at the residence, 101 Old Oak Road in Byron. -
Rooks Funeral Home in Byron has charge of arrangements.
