MACON - Mr. Alonza Lucius Spires, 83, died early Saturday morning, December 
22, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services were held at 10 A.M. on Monday, 
December 24 in the chapel of Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial  
followed in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Rusty Smith and Rev. Wesley 
Jones will officiate. The family  received friends at the funeral home on 
Sunday evening from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. The family asked that those who wish 
may make memorial contributions to the Mikado Baptist Church Building Fund. -
Mr. Spires was born in Milan, GA to the late Walter Red and Lola McDuffie 
Spires. He had lived in the Middle Georgia area for the past 52 years. Mr. 
Spires was employed by JM Huber, was a member of Shurlington United Methodist 
Church, and had also attended Mikado Baptist Church. -Survivors include his 
wife, Hazel Lene Spires; sons, Donnie (Gail) Spires, Terry (Linda) Spires; 
daughter, Connie (Buddy) Touchton; eight grandchildren, 15 great

Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue, had charge of arrangements.
