Funeral services were held at 12 Noon Wednesday, October 17, at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church. The Rev. Clyde Evans officiated. Burial followed in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA 31210. -Mr. Stewart, son of the late Robert Lee and Alta Green Stewart, was born in Carrizozo, New Mexico. He moved from New Mexico and had lived most of his life in the Middle Georgia area. Mr. Stewart graduated from Wilkinson County High School and was a U. S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was an active member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Stewart worked for Armstrong and retired after 35 years of service. He then went on to work as a greeter at WalMart on Harrison Road. -Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Margaret Ricks Stewart, of Gray; daughter, Melanie (Lawrence) Brown, of Gray; sisters, Ilene Morrow, of Perry, Madeline (Frank) Toler, of Centerville, Vera Revels, of Lilburn, Ura Culpepper, of Milledgeville; brother, Allen (Doris) Stewart, of Savannah, TN; granddaughter, Tara (Daniel) Davis; grandson, Dusty (Stacy) Gardner; great granddaughter, Cheyenne Davis; great grandson, Hunter Davis; step grandchildren, Diane Armoska, Tammy (John) Case, Angie (Danny) Sebestyen, Charlie (Amanda) Courtney; eleven step great grandchildren; eight nephews; and six nieces. -Visit www.mem.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue had charge of arrangements.
