He was the son of the late William Raymond and Temple Stewart, a Navy veteran of World War ll and retired as a auto parts salesman at Riverside Ford. He was a charter member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pionono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Stewart, children, William James Stewart Jr., of Stockbridge, Raymond Lawrence Stewart of Milledgeville, Betty Ann Jennings and Carolyn Tellez, both of Macon, and Cathy Dickerson of Cocoa Beach, Fla., brother and sisters, Allen Stewart of Milledgeville, Margaret Hall of Helena, and Vivian Stewart of Jacksonville, Fla; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bloomfield United Methodist Church Appointment Fund, 5511 Bloomfield Road, Macon 31206, or to Hospice of Central Georgia, P. O. Box 67533, Macon, 31208. The family received friends from 5 to 7 at Snow's Memorial Chapel and could be contacted at 5706 Lawrence Court.
