A. V. SIKES ---------- Well-Known Macon Woman Succumbs at Private Hospital ---------- Mrs. Augusta Virginia Sikes, widow of Isaac Sikes and a resident of Macon for the last 40 years died early yesterday morning at a local private hospital as a result of a fall. Mrs. Sikes was 80 years of age and was well known. She was a Virginian by birth, a daughter of W. A. and Virginia Evans(1), among the pioneer settlers of that state. She was born Aug. 23, 1849 and moved to Macon early in 1889. She was a member of Mulberry Street Methodist Church. She made her home here with her daughter, Miss Hattie Sikes, in the Forsyth Terrace. She also is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. D. S. Whitt, of Montgomery, Ala.; and Mrs. T. J. Ambrose(2), of Chicago, two nieces(3), Mrs. H. M. Ufford of New York City, and Mrs. I. J. Dorsey, Jr., of Appalachoo(4), Ala., and three great grandsons, H. M. Ufford, Jr., I. J. III, and David Whitt Dorsey. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
