Funeral services were held yesterday at noon at the grave in the family lot at Juliette for Mrs. Bethenia Thurmond. Interment was in the Juliette cemetery. Mrs. Thurmond died at her residence, 401 Franklin street [in Macon, GA], after an illness of three weeks. She was 85 years of age, and was born in Jones county. She was the widow of the late A. T. Thurmond and had lived in Macon for the last 30 years. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church. Surviving are two sons, C. H. and J. C. Thurmond, of Macon; three daughters, Mrs. Sallie Carter, of Douglas, Mrs. Willie Peacock, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. J. T. Baxter, of Birmingham, Ala. She was the daughter of William and Nancy Willingham, of Jones county.
