Tyson Sr., 65, of 4403 Ashland Drive, died Sunday in a local hospital after a sudden illness. Services will be held at 11am Tuesday in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors. The Rev. James Corbitt will officiate. Mr. Tyson, a native of Coffee County, had lived in Macon for 20 years. He was retired from the US Air Force and NORS Control, Warner Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the Pine Forest Baptist Church, a Mason, and the Air Force Sergeant's Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Schalk Tyson of Macon three sons, Quitman Tyson Jr., Richard Paul Tyson, and Ernest W. Tyson, all of Macon; two daughters, Miss Margaret Ann Tyson and Mrs. Lynn A. Stewart, both of Macon; a grandson, Scott Tyson of Macon; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor of Columbus. Additional Comments: Quitman was born 12 Jun 1916 to Aaron Tyson and Margaret "Maggie" A. Unknown Tyson. Georgia death certificate #031084.
