Friday, November 10, 2006 in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Frank Wood officiated. Miss Wood died Tuesday, November 7, 2006. Miss Wood was a native of Laurens County. She was born December 9, 1910, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Wood and the late Ada Samantha Ann Dixon Wood. She was the oldest member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She graduated from Dudley High School at age of 16. She was a graduate of Crandall Business College in Macon. She retired from the Army Corps of Engineers in 1970 having worked in Atlanta, San Francisco, Florida, Korea, and Iran. She traveled around the world three times. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, great great great nieces and nephews and Special Friends, Essie and James Robert White. -The family will be at the home of Scharline Moore, 3423 Highway 80 West and received friends from 12 Noon until 1:00 P.M.
