Yarbrough, Jr., 85, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008, after a lengthy illness. -Mr. Yarbrough was a true Southern gentleman. He was devoted to his faith, his family and his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. An avid pianist, Mr. Yarbrough often entertained his family and friends by playing and singing University of Georgia "fight" songs. He is wearing his lucky red socks to heaven, where he will continue to cheer his "Dawgs" to victory. Mr. Yarbrough was born in Macon, Georgia on October 14, 1922. He was the youngest son of Dr. Caesar A. "C.A." Yarbrough and Susan Viola Yates Yarbrough, originally of Randolph County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dr. William E. Yarbrough and his sisters, Flossie H. Rutherford, Gustie Pinholster, and Ouida Tomlinson. Mr. Yarbrough graduated from Miller High School for Boys in 1940. He attended Emory University until his college career was interrupted by active military service in World War II. After his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, Mr. Yarbrough returned to college and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1947 with a major in chemical engineering. He was Commander of Mu Chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity in 1945. Most of his career was in chemical sales for air filtering products in mining and in kaolin clay, with National Filter Media and B.W.F. America and later with C.A. Yarbrough & Associates. Mr. Yarbrough was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Gridiron Society, Al Sihah Shrine, the Rutland Masonic Lodge, the Macon Elk's Club and Idle Hour Country Club. He was also a Paul Harris fellow in the Macon Rotary Club. -He is survived by his wife, Martha Binion Yarbrough; his son, C.A. "Tripp" Yarbrough, III (Karen) of Macon, Georgia; and his daughter, Susanne Draeger of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Mr. Yarbrough is survived by five grandchildren: Courtney Austin Yarbrough, Caitlin Amanda Yarbrough, and Colby Augustus Yarbrough of Macon, Georgia; Catherine Neil Bady of Baltimore, Maryland, and Charles Fred "Charlie" Newberry of Sante Fe, New Mexico. Other surviving relatives include two stepsons , Sanford P. England (Becky) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Michael B. England of Gaithersburg, Maryland. -Mr. Yarbrough's funeral service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Macon, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Interment will be immediately following the service at Riverside Cemetery. The Reverend Dr. Wesley Smith and the Reverend David Probst will conduct the service with family members assisting. -The family wishes to extend thanks and gratitude to the staff of Harrington House at Carlyle Place for their kindness and loving care of Mr. Yarbrough during his lengthy illness. Box 2525, Macon, Georgia 31203. -The family will be greeting friends and family at 1200 Woodcrest Drive in Macon between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. -A favorite Danish proverb says, "When you see a tear, a heart has truly been touched." Mr. Yarbrough touched the hearts of his family and friends. He will be sorely missed. -Hart's Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
