A 3 GA RES C.S.A. Additional Comments: Nazareth Allen was a guard at Andersonville Prison during the Civil War. He testified in the infamous trial of Commander Henry Wirz who was the only prison commander to be hung after the Civil War was over. He gave no incriminating evidence during his testimony that supported the charges against Wirz. It is unknown who his father was at this time. It is believed he came to Georgia from South Carolina.
