Photograph is the gravesite of James Walter Allen, Jr.
b: 19 June 1877
d: 28 October 1938

Additional Comments:
The grave marker for James Walter Allen, Jr. is located in the Allen family 
plot.  James Walter Allen, Jr. originally was a farmer, but his brother Ira 
Oscar Allen opened a store on Hazel Street and James and his wife Lizzie 
Braswell Allen moved in and ran the store for many years.  The location where 
the store was located is now a vacant lot located at Hazel Street and Hazel 
Street Lane just across the alley from the church located there.  The church 
was a Holiness church for many years.  The site is directly across the street 
from the City of Macon Fire Department and Macon Police training academy.  The 
old Bibb Mill village was located where those two locations are now.  A 
photograph of the old Allen store will be posted later on the Bibb County site.
