Reg't Plane, William F.-2d Lieutenant May 27, 1861. Elected Captain May 27, 1861. Wounded and captured at Sharpsburg, Md. September 17, 1862. Died of wounds in Stone House Hospital in Maryland in 1862. Coleman Hill apparently has (or had, years ago) the reputation as the 'Lovers Lane' of Macon...Mercer Universitys school of law was close by, which may have fed into that belief. I've enclosed a photo of one view and a map I had. It's easily arrived at from Riverside Drive but I often came in via Orange St. I used to stop at a Churches Chicken joint on the way back across the street from an old firehouse. That was 20+ years ago so all of this may have changed.
