An obelisk that should be on William's marker was knocked off and is lying in two pieces next to his sister Catherine Zeigler Dent's marker (she is not buried there, the marker is a memorial placed there by her four children according to the inscription on the side). It is in a beautiful area that looks out onto the Ocmulgee River in Macon, GA and originally there was a cast iron fence along the front. Vandalism and bad weather (including a couple of tornadoes) have taken their toll.
