Athan Coffey born June 27, 1820 son of Hannah Boone & Smith Coffey.
Athan Coffey married Mary McGuire - He removed from Caldwell County, N.C. to
Cherokee County in 1838.
Settled on Hiawassee River 4 mi from Murphy, N.C.  Later removed to Peachtree
Creek where he died  June 23,1881
