Came from Camp Hill Ala - to Milner in 1875 - had medical diploma 
from the Atlanta Medical College in 1877 - practiced two years, 
giving up his work because of defective hearing - oldest living 
graduate at the time of his death. Married Miss Martha Francis Duncan, 
only child of Mr. & Mrs. J. L. Duncan, Sept. 2nd, 1877.

Transcribed from the original by Barbara Smallwood Stock, 
Marietta, Georgia, who has possession of the original bible 
and has had it restored. 

An inscription inside the cover reads "August 4, 1919, I will & 
bequeath to my grandaughter Mamie Crawley this Bible." 
It is believed to have been the bible of James Long Duncan or 
"Daddy Duncan," as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren 
& great-grandchildren. James Long Duncan was the ggg-grandfather of 
Barbara Smallwood Stock.
