Sherwood Parker Family Bible Georgia Contributed by: Martha Lackey Sherwood Parker is a descendant of Mary Lucy Ann WHITE and Daniel E. PARKER, a Revolutionary War Veteran. Both are buried in Parker Cemetery outside of Thomaston, Upson County, GA. The Sherwood White PARKER family Bible was in the possession of Mr. Emmett Hill Shepherd in 1980. The Bible, in fair condition, has a leather cover which is separated from the spine, discolored with age, title page gone, but other pages in fair condition. The ink is very faded. The name SHERED WHITE PARKER is inscribed on the flyleaf. The account of the marriages, births, and deaths follows the Old Testament. The title page of the New Testament follows the family information and reads: Holbrook's Stereotype Edition. The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, translated out of the Original Greek and with the former translations diligently compared and revised. Stereotyped by R & J Collins, New York. Parker departed this life on the 14th of August 1874 aged 29 years 9 months 22 days End of Bible Record Tucked in the Bible on a loose tablet sheet in the handwriting of Gulliver Parker Shepherd, son of Mary (Mollie) Elizabeth Parker and John Reuben Shephers is the following: Mollie E. Shepherd departed this life March the 25 1887 age 38 years 7 months and 18 days. Other notes show Mollie Parker died at Camp Hill, AL, Candace Parker died at Camp Hill and is buried in a field on the Parker Place, and that Sherwood White Parker died in Searcy, White County, AR and is buried there. This Bible was copied by Inez Shepherd Sutton in 1957. It was reviewed and compared with the original in 1980 when a phostat copy was made.
