M. B. Brown, is one of the outstanding pastors of the Bethel Association. Brother Brown was born January 12, 1884 and became an Editor of note in this section of the state during his young manhood. He now resides at Richland, Georgia and was ordained to preach the gospel on October 21, 1923. He commenced his ministry with five churches in the Summerhill and Friendship Association and has served from four to six churches continuously without a lapse of a single Sunday since that time. Most of his churches have been located in the Summerhill, Columbus, Friendship, and Bethel Associations. During the summer months Rev. Brown does a great deal of Evangelistic work assisting other pastors in Revivals, both as a song director and as minister. At present he is serving Salem Baptist Church, Edison, Georgia; Morgan Baptist Church, Morgan, Georgia; Doverel Baptist Church, Dawson, Georgia; Sardis Baptist Church, Dawson, Georgia; and Shiloh Baptist Church, Americus, Georgia. Brother Brown is active in his duties, a forceful and convincing speaker and holds the attention of his congregation. He studies the needs of his churches and is very helpful as a pastor and advisor. He is now one of the outstanding pastors of this section of the State.
