Gilmer “Index to Family Histories” Andrew Hart Barnett Harvie Bibb Johnson Campbell Lewis Clark Long Crawford Mathews Dooly McGehee Gilbert Meriwether Gilmer Strother Grattan Taliaferro This book is copyrighted by the Genealogical Publishing Company, 1999, Baltimore, Maryland, for the Clearfield Company. The Publisher’s Preface to the Indexed Edition: “We are pleased to make available this reprint of an important work on the early settlers and history of Upper Georgia to which we have added a long needed index. The considerable genealogical data on the early families contained in this book was difficult to locate in either the original edition of 1855 or the corrected and revised edition of 1926, neither of which contained an index. This history, however, written as it is in this most unusual style will always remain as an oasis in the moral desert of truculent and time serving literature...” ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
