Georgia Biographies Anthony Wayne File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Barbara Winge barbarawinge@yahoo.com http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm Georgia Table of Contents: ANTHONY WAYNE General Anthony Waynes was born in Chester county, Pa., in 1745. he was at the battles of Brandy wine, Germantown, and Monmouth. After the capture of Cornwallis he was detached to Georgia, and was useful to the State in cutting off communications between the British, then in Savannah, and the country contiguous. Our Legislature for his services bestowed on him a large tract of land. He had charge of the Western army in 1792, against the Miami Indians.
