Mr. Lem Sanders, overseer for Mr. W.O. Peacock, of Bleckley County, died Tuesday night about ten o'clock at the home of Henry Jackson, a colored farm hand on the place. Mr. Sanders was shot and killed with his own pistol by the negro, Henry Jackson, who disappeared after the killing. We were unable to learn any details of the tragedy. The story above was gave earlier this morning and with not as authentic, but in accordance with the report. Since the above was written a telephone message has been received here stating that Jackson has killed two more men- Sumpter Hogg, marshal of Cochran, and a Mr.Lewis, and is now barricaded in a house on Mr. F.R. Collins' place three miles east of Hawkinsville. Sheriff Rogers and a large number of citizens left immediately for the scene prepared to capture the negro dead or alive.
