TOBIE JORDAN KILLED BY 
OTIS HARRIS.

Mullet Supper Saturday 
Night Winds Up With 
Usual Results- A Dead 
Negro.
   Tobie Jordan was shot 
and killed Saturday 
night about twelve 
o'clock by Otis Harris 
at a negro mullet supper 
at the home of Frank 
Powell on Mr.E.C.Smith's 
place near Hartford. It 
is said that there were 
about forty witnesses to 
the affair, which was 
investigated Sunday by 
coroner's jury, after 
which a verdict of 
murder was returned 
against Harris. Harris 
skipped out immediately 
after the killing but 
was captured Sunday 
afternoon by Sheriff 
Rogers and Deputy, at a 
home near Mr. Dave 
Brown's place in 
Bleckley County, about 
eight miles from 
Hawkinsville. It is a 
heavy drain on the 
county to try so many 
cases as the result of 
negro mullet suppers and 
gambling scrapes and 
there ought to be some 
way devised to put a 
stop to these
