Letter From Marion Turner. 
     Mr. Editor, 
In last Friday’s issue of your paper there 
appeared an article from George McNair, in 
answer to a card from John W. Lancaster, in the 
issue of the Tuesday before of the Dispatch and 
News of Hawkinsville.
   I have been brought into this controversy 
very much to my regret, and it seems that I am 
to be made to bear the brunt of a dispute 
between two candidates whom, in the beginning 
of the campaign. I had intended remaining 
impartial between without my knowledge or 
consent George McNair charged me with being the 
author of a statement tq the effect that John 
Lancaster was instrumental in establishing a 
city court for Pulaski county. John Lancaster 
has shown in his card that I denied having made 
such a statement, which denial I will under no 
circumstances withdraw.
George McNair replies, and very emphatically 
reiterates that I did make such statement, and 
says that t being a matter of veracity between 
him and me he leaves it to the people of 
Pulaski county to decide between us. 
     Unfortunately for the cause of truth and 
the enlightenment of the interested public no 
one was present when the alleged conversation 
between George McNair and me took place but 
George McNair and myself
    I am satisfied to leave this issue of 
veracity between him and me to 
The tribunal he names and do so without fear of 
the verdict.
