His wife, Gladys Cook Howell is also buried there. His parents, William Thomas Howell and Callie Virginia Davidson Howell are buried at Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bleckley County. From The Cochran Journal 10-4-1989 Page 5B John M. "Kim" Howell Funeral services for John M. "Kim' Howell, age 81, of 812 lower Fifth Street, Cochran, who died Friday night, September 29, in the Dodge County Hospital in Eastman were held Monday, October 2, in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home with Elder Julian Asbell officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Howell, a native of Dodge County, had lived in Bleckley County most of his life. He was a retired cook having worked at The Grill for a number of years. He attended the Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors are two sons, Alton Howell of Cochran and Johnny Howell of Hooks, Texas; one brother, Ollie E. Howell of Cochran; one sister, Mrs. Odie Roland of Cochran; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 step great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Harold Norris Jr., Mahlon Floyd, Carlis Roland, Howell Reeves, Bobby Sanders, and Melvin Shepard. Mathis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
