Bridges will be at 3pm today in Mount Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bridges, 94, died Sunday, July 13, 1997, in a Cochran nursing home. The son of the late West and Cindy English Bridges, he was born in Laurens County but lived most of his life in Bleckley County. A Coast Guard veteran, he was retired from Paulk Lumber Company and as minister of Freewill Baptist Church. He was a member of Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anna Padget Bridges; daughter, Loline O'Neal of Cochran; brother and sister, Ben Bridges of Allentown and Sara Lizzy Slaughter of Dublin; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren.
